In 2002, I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease. At this time in Melbourne and Victoria there was only a limited selection of foods available for those who needed gluten free products. Majority of which was expensive and tasteless.

As a result, I decided to start experimenting with food, to provide a more suitable range of delicious food for my family and I to enjoy.

I have always had a passion for cooking and because of this I decided to take it to the next level and start producing in bulk quantities. At which point, my large walk in kitchen pantry would be completely over flowing with my products, so I started to attend local country markets to sell them. I started regularly attending markets within the Mirboo North region and later was invited to take my stall to different country markets around Warragul, Morwell and Tarwin Lower.

All my products were Wheat, Gluten and Dairy free right from the beginning, and because of this I managed to obtain a stall at the “Gluten Free Expo” in Melbourne in 2005. The invitations to take my stall to different markets continued and I decided to enter into the country market competitions. Including the Wonthaggi Agricultural Show, where I won prizes ranging from 1st – 3rd for different products. After this, I entered my Worcestershire Sauce into the Royal Melbourne Show and was awarded, ‘Very Highly Commended’. In 2014, I entered a variety of my products into the Deniliquin Agricultural Show and was awarded 1st for every product entered. In 2015, I won 5 first prizes and 2 second prizes at the Cobram Agricultural Show.

As a Coeliac, it was important to join the Coeliac Society as they provided the best support understanding the disease. The Coeliac Society has even approved my Worcestershire Sauce as safe for people with Fructose Malabsorption to consume as it strained through double muslin leaving no onion or apple particles left in the final product.
